<description>Hi Carina, thanks for the nice post.

Deepening of breath makes a person deficient of CO2. This is known as Chronic Hyperventilation (CHV), which has been found a main cause of respiratory problems like Asthma. CO2 is not a waste gas, it helps to absorb O2 in body. The lesser the CO2 in body, the lesser capability of a body to benefit from O2.

Above is based on Dr. Buteyko&#039;s theory, which like NVI has been practised by thousands world-wide to cure problems like Asthma, Sleep Apnea, Snoring, Migraine, etc.. There is a great similarity between the lives of W.H.Bates and Buteyko. I enourage yu to read about Buteyko Breathing Techniques (BBT) at Peter Kolb&#039;s web site:
http://members.westnet.com.au/pkolb/buteyko.htm

I happened to be the lucky one who knows NVI and BBT both. I combine both of these by breathing from diaphragm but avoids CHV to protect CO2.

Mahmood (from UAE)

		<description>Dear Carina,
What a great article.I have been very slack with my deep breathing lately.(telling myself I have no time,I&#039;m too tired etc) &amp; my eye sight has been progresively worsening.Your article has motivated me again &amp; reminded me why breathing is so important
Thank you.....( I have been &quot;asking&quot;how to improve my vision)...
         THANK YOU AGAIN
