Understanding your Prescription

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

What are all those numbers on your written prescription? Sometimes looking at the piece of paper handed to you by your optometrist or ophthalmologist can be like going back into algebra class. Yet knowing what these numbers mean is an important part of taking responsibility for your own eyesight, and gives you the knowledge to effect improvements in your vision. Knowing where you are now offers the opportunity to take yourself where you choose to go.

Once you have a basic explanation of the meaning of the different areas of your prescription, you will also have a greater sense of how to manage your transition glasses, allowing you to accomplish your vision improvement while still maintaining your normal daily activities. The attached audio offers a second complimentary track from the upcoming Personal Eyesight Trainer (for Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism) and follows on from the audio offered in the previous newsletter.
